KWCA has published a factsheet for its community conservancy members titled; Land Rights for Community Conservancies Strengthened. After years of advocacy to support community conservancies protect their land rights, the Community Land Act came into effect on 21st September 2016. We are sharing what we've learnt from the new Community Land Act 2016.

The factsheet details the benefits of the new land regime for community conservancies and the procedure for Community Land registration. The fact sheet also summaries the challenges of the previous land laws and concerns on implementation of the Community Land Act shared by conservancies members from SORALO and Amboseli regions whose biggest land areas were managed under the Land (Group Ranch Representative) Act and from Baringo and NRT conservancies whose lands were managed under the Lands (Trust Lands) Act from awareness meetings conducted by KWCA in December and January 2017.
